Aesthetic Dermatology Technician

Program Information:
Hours: 30 hours.
Length: Full-Time: 1 week / Part-Time: 2 weeks.
Cost: $3,950.00 plus taxes.
Application Fee: $50.00.
Assessment Fee: $35.00.
Location: 1214-2929 Barnet Highway, Coquitlam.
Certification: Students who have completed their program will be issued a certificate of completion solely from BC Medical Spa.

Product Description

Our Aesthetic Dermatology Technician program will teach students how to operate the laser and IPL machines for hair removal, skin rejuvenation, pigmentation treatment and spider vein removal. Students will identify common skin disorders while learning to do full facial treatments using ozone therapy, steaming, and high-frequency and radio-frequency devices.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, the successful student will have reliably demonstrated the ability to:

  • Perform an aesthetic facial assessment
  • Understand the anatomy of human skin and skin disorders
  • Perform deep vacuum pore cleansing and extraction
  • Initial client consultation and after-care
  • Discuss safety and disposal standards
  • Operate equipment maintenance
  • Operate and perform facial steaming therapy
  • Perform galvanic lifting and ultrasonic
  • Perform Microdermabrasion treatments
  • Perform High-Frequency treatment
  • Operate and perform radio frequency treatments
  • Perform intro Laser IPL treatments
  • Perform intro training to chemical peels

Program Classification:

  • Class B.

Admission Requirements:

  • BC Medical Spa nor the student applicant may waive the admission requirements.
  • Minimum Age: All applicants must have completed grade 12 or be a minimum of 19 years of age. 
  • A copy of a photo ID (Driver’s License, Passport or BCID) is required to prove identity.
  • All applicants must complete a student enrolment contract before their application is processed.
  • All International students must obtain a valid education study permit through Citizenship and Immigration Canada. International students must submit a copy of the approved permit to the school.

The Aesthetic Dermatology Technician was reviewed and approved by the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) registrar of the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Training.
