Product Description
This advanced hands-on training program will teach students to critically analyze how lasers work, including the physics of lasers: IPL, C02 Fractional, Diode, Q-Switch ND-YAG (picosure, picosecond, picowave), and teeth whitening. Advanced theoretical concepts of the anatomy, physiology, parameters for permanent hair reduction, photo facial, vascular and pigmented lesions, and tattoo removal will be an essential part of the program.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this program, the successful student will have reliably demonstrated the ability to:
• Apply foundational laser principles and safety protocols in simulated clinical scenarios.
• Articulate the steps, purpose, and safety considerations for advanced laser treatments including IPL, diode, ND-YAG, C02, and teeth whitening.
• Explain the mechanisms and expected outcomes of skin tightening, pigmentation removal, spider vein removal, and hair removal.
• Integrate theoretical knowledge of laser physics, such as wavelength and energy settings, into hands-on practice sessions with laser equipment
• Analyze and adjust laser settings (wavelength, pulse duration, spot size, energy) for optimal treatment efficacy and patient safety for each specific laser device studied.
• Conduct comprehensive client consultations, including medical history review, treatment planning, and informed consent.
• Execute advanced laser treatments (IPL, diode, ND-YAG, teeth whitening) on clients, demonstrating precision and adherence to safety protocols.
• Implement rigorous sanitation and disinfectant procedures to maintain a sterile clinical environment.
• Explain the physiological responses to laser treatments and how these influence the healing process and treatment outcomes over time.
Admission Requirements:
• BC Medical Spa nor the student applicant may waive the admission requirements.
• Minimum Age: All applicants must have completed grade 12 or be a minimum of 19 years of age.
