The Microdermabrasion & Skin Care Technician program will teach students how to operate high-frequency, galvanic and ultra-sonic devices. They will also learn how to effectively use medical exfoliators, pore extraction techniques, toners, and moisturizers.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the successful student will have reliably demonstrated the ability to:

- Perform an aesthetic facial assessment
- Understand the anatomy of human skin
- Use toners and moisturizers effectively
- Perform pore extraction and deep cleansing techniques
- Initial client consultation and after-care
- Perform medical exfoliating procedures
- Discuss safety and disposal standards
- Operate equipment maintenance
- Use the Diamond tip microdermabrasion effectively
- Perform Microdermabrasion and chemical peel treatments
- Perform the High-Frequency treatment
- Perform Galvanic & Ultrasonic Techniques
Program Classification:
- Class B.
Admission Requirements:
BC Medical Spa nor the student applicant may waive the admission requirements.
– Minimum Age: All applicants must have completed grade 12 or be a minimum of 19 years of age.
– A copy of photo ID (Driver’s License, Passport or BCID) is required to prove identity.
– All applicants must complete a student enrolment contract before their application is processed.
– All International students must obtain a valid education study permit through Citizenship and Immigration Canada. International students must submit a copy of the approved permit to the school.
